Nancy R. Gade, MD began her medical training at New York University where she attained her MD in 1993. Challenged by medicine in the big city, she continued her training in New York at the prestigious Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center where she trained for her internship and residency in Internal Medicine. While at Columbia, Dr. Gade developed a keen interest in preventive medicine and went on to do research and lecture in this field. “I believe in concentrating on the prevention of disease which means focusing on the entire individual, not just treating a disease or a body part,” she says. “There is so much technology out there to screen for every malady you can think of, but few people know what test they need or which one is useful, or even proven. I help my patients navigate through the myriad of medical information available.” Practicing personalized medicine has allowed Dr. Gade to focus her efforts on the individual instead of the masses.
Prior to launching Wilton Internal Medicine, LLC in 2008 with co-founder and partner, Dr. Iyer, she worked at Wilton Medical Associates, PC, a multi-physician group in the center of town. “It was here I developed so many close relationships with many of my patients, but became frustrated with the limitations imposed on me by third parties……..I wanted to have more time with each patient, be able to think more about individual patient problems, and even do house calls!” Since opening WIM, Dr. Gade has been able to accomplish all she set out to do – devoting herself to personalized medicine, her patients give glowing reports about the time and attention they receive, and her homebound patients love having a doctor that makes house calls.
Dr. Gade lives in Wilton with her husband and two children, Jimmy and Ava, ages 14 and 10, who keep her busy outside of the world of medicine. In between her two jobs of Mom and doctor, Dr. Gade enjoys (dancing) ballet which keeps her mind and body balanced!
In a world where so many medical practices and doctors have become technical and impersonal, Dr Nancy R Gade is a gifted medical professional who’s compassion, depth of knowledge and attention to her patients is impressive, and has been a constant saving grace for our family. 3 1/2 years ago due to a serious decline in health, my parents who are in their 90’s moved from their home in NJ to live next door to us in CT. Dr. Gade guided us in the preparation to become their caregivers, and has been their primary care doctor ever since. Dr Gade visits my parents regularly, carefully examining them, listening to their concerns, and is always proactive in addressing their needs. With all their medical challenges, we have entrusted her, and we credit her with their stability and well being. She has always been completely invested and has been supportive not only those in her care as her direct patients, but also to the family as a whole.
